Can you believe it’s been ten whole years since I pranced through the front door of our cozy little liquor store for the first time, tail wagging and nose twitching? Back then, I was just a tiny pup with big dreams and an even bigger love for greeting customers. Now, I’m Oakley: local legend, treat connoisseur, and your loyal four-legged greeter.

Over the past decade, I’ve seen it all. I’ve snoozed through wine tastings, supervised countless beer deliveries, and offered emotional support during those tough “I just need a bottle of red and a quiet night” moments. Rain or shine, I’ve been here—perched by the register, paws on the counter, waiting for belly rubs and the occasional bit of dog treats from generous customers (you know who you are).

And now here we are: a decade of community, clinking glasses, and canine companionship. Whether you stopped in for a six-pack, a rare bourbon, or just to say hi to me, you’ve been part of our journey—and I couldn’t be more grateful (or more spoiled).

To celebrate, we’re throwing a paw-ty Wednesday, May 7^th from 3 to 8pm. Expect specials, samples, and of course, plenty of photo ops with yours truly. Bring your friends and your good vibes. You don’t want to miss this!

Thanks for letting me be the heart (and nose) of this store for ten incredible years. Here’s to the next ten—and maybe a raise in treats? Just sayin’.

Pinot Grigio – For Mrs. Peterson’s Easter dinner or anyone who loves a light, crisp wine with a side of sunshine.

Oakley’s Old-Fashioned Bourbon – Our best-selling bourbon for those cool April nights by the fire. I highly approve (I may or may not have sniffed a few bottles myself).

Craft Beer Selection – Whether you’re grilling or watching the game, I got your beer game covered. I’m especially fond of the local pale ales and IPAs.

Hello, hoomans! It’s the first day of spring, and I’m feeling like a new dog (which means I’m eating grass and chasing my tail with extra enthusiasm). But today, I’m here to tackle something that’s near and dear to my nose—that glorious liquid concoction you two-legged creatures keep talking about: liquor.

Now, before anyone starts calling the pet police on me, let me just clarify: I do not drink liquor. I mean, I’ve tried it. I once got a whiff of what you call “whiskey” after it spilled on the floor. Let me tell you, it was an experience. The burn in my nose was awful, I thought I might start barking in a language only squirrels could understand.  Today, I’m not talking about consuming it, I just wanted to share a new drink my mom came up with. She mixed Shanky’s Whip and Rumchata together. A “Whipped Chata” I had the opportunity to smell it, and my oh my if you like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal you will absolutely love this. It was delicious. So there you have it friends, a new drink to toast in the season of Spring! Cheers to my fellow party animals. Until next time. Oakley 🐾🐾

Hey there, hoomans! I’ve been observing something super interesting this month. You see, for all of January, I noticed my humans doing something that left me a little confused at first – they were talking about Dry January. At first, I thought it was just some sort of weird human tradition. No treats? No snacks? What’s going on here?

But now, it’s February, and I’ve noticed something wonderful… they’re finally cracking open those bottles again. And do you know what that means for me? Treats for ALL! 🙌It was like the humans were pretending to be all serious, and I couldn’t understand why they were avoiding something that clearly made them happier. I mean, have you ever seen how much they smile when they sip on a drink? It’s like the equivalent of when I get to chase a ball or take a nap in a sunbeam. Pure joy.

So, humans, here’s my take: celebrate all you want! I’ll gladly be your designated “snack taster” and join in the fun. Maybe a few more belly rubs, a couple of extra treats, and who knows – I might even let you throw the ball farther just because I’m in such a good mood.

Hey my fur-tastic friends! It’s Christmas time and at Granny’s Liquor we have something for that special someone. Whether your human enjoys a glass of whiskey, a sparkling drink, or just loves the scent of gin in the air, there’s a gift out there to make their Christmas merry and bright. And let’s not forget, the most important part of Christmas is spending time with those you love – including your favorite pup, of course. While they sip on their festive beverages, you can snuggle by the fire, dream of treats, and enjoy the best part of the holidays: being together.

Thanksgiving isn’t just a day to be thankful; it’s a reminder to carry that attitude of gratitude throughout the year. The practice of focusing on what we have—our health, our loved ones, our homes, and even the small joys we encounter every day—can lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. Whether it’s lending a helping hand, listening to a friend, or simply expressing appreciation, small acts of kindness can have a big impact. I know how thankful I am to having the human parents I do and receive all the love from everyone that patronizes Granny’s.

Take a breath this holiday season and reflect on all the great things in your life.

Granny’s is closed on Thanksgiving. We will re-open on Friday and don’t forget about Small Business Saturday. Support all the amazing small businesses in the area. My parents and others will be rolling lefse from 12 to 3pm. Michelle from Johnson Brothers will be tasting at that time as well. Lots of activities are happening around town and be sure to take in the Legion Lights in Sylvan Park. It’s Magical!

Fall is in the Air! My mom has all kinds of fall beers and liqueurs to support the Season. Sam Adams Octoberfest, Schell’s Oktoberfest, So Tier Pumpkin are just a few beers to satisfy your taste buds. We also have in North Forest Pumpkin liqueur and Pennsylvanian Dutch Pumpkin Spice. Add them to your coffee on these chilly mornings or serve them on rocks, so tasty. I like to snuggle with my family on these cool days. It’s Homecoming in Lanesboro this week, so be sure to come out and support the kids. One of my favorite humans will be riding in the parade and I cannot wait to cheer her on! Go Burros!! Granny’s is open 7 days a week. Monday – Wednesday 10 to 8pm, Thursday – Saturday 10 to 9pm and Sunday 11 to 5pm. Be sure to stop on in and be sure to give me a few pettings! Ruff Ruff! 🐾🐾

Giddy Up Folks! It’s Buffalo Bill Days this weekend! Ride on into Granny’s and pick up some of your favorite beverages. Some new items that have just arrived are Old Smokey Snickerdoodle Cream, Dirty Shirley Cocktail, Border Bourbon 45^th Parallel, Tree Huggers Orange Sour THC. If you looking for some new wine we have Dolly Chardonnay, Bonterra Sauv Blanc and Rose and 19 Crimes Cal Smooth Red Blend. So tasty. We hope you celebrate with us and be sure to come in for our tasting with Apples R Us on Saturday from 12 to 3pm. You will be happy you did!! Watch for us in the parade on Sunday as well!! Giddy up! Happy 4^th of July from me, Oakley! July means fireworks and that hurts my ears. I don’t like all the noise. I enjoy being at Granny’s so I don’t hear any of it. I also get to receive lots of lovin from everyone that comes in! Mom has the store stocked and ready for the week. Lots of new items arriving daily. Have you tried Door Peninsula Red, White and Blueberry. It’s a blueberry/strawberry wine with a bit of sweetness. Great for your 4^th of July picnic. New Real American Beer just arrived, it’s a great lager introduced by Hulk Hogan. It comes in 12 pack cans. The package is red, white and blue, so patriotic. Another fun beverage for the weekend, Big Sipz has ready to drink cocktails that contain 16% alcohol. Look out, you only need one! They come in 5 tasty varieties.
